AXE FX3 sending midi to A&H qu mixer

AXE FX3 sending midi to A&H qu mixers

Hi to all,

I can send midi from my axe fx3 to my a&h qu16 and swithing scenes.

But i can’t find how to do mute channels or fader (+/- 1-3db) and so.

So need i some help/examples…

You might want to look at this post regarding the Allen&Heath QU24. I believe the project file there has some MUTE Group and even fader examples. Coupled with the documentation on your specific mixer from Allen and Heath, you should be able to figure the translations you need.

For a more specific example, I would need to know what the AXE FX3 sends for the specific function you require. It is beyond the scope of providing a complete solution for free support here, but I could give you a specific example to get you started as part of the free support service. I don’t have a QU16 for testing so would need to rely on the accuracy of the documentation.

I would not use CC 127 as the MIDI Spec calls this out as a CC to reset all MIDI configurations. Pick something unused like perhaps 102.

You might try this. I’m using CC102 value of 127 for mute on and CC102 value of 0 for mute off. Both of Track 1

Allen-and-Heath-QU16 Mute Example-2022-08-10.bmtp (1.1 KB)

The output is based on the QU protocol Manual V1.9 found here.

You might need to set up your aliases for your actual devices. Since I have neither I just tested using virtual ports.

YES! I’v got it working.

I’v found https://www.allen-heath.com/media/Qu-MIDI-generator.xlsx

And changed output 90 01 7F 90 01 00 in 90 20 3F 90 01 00

And see what’s wrong… channel nr decimal must be hex

I’m glad you got it working!
