Bome MIDI Translator on Mac FR Keyboard messes up some keys

Hi

I run the trial version of the latest Bome MIDI Translator Pro for Mac.

I have a French AZERTY keyboard and the software completely messes some keys, especially symbols.

I set up a translator to the , key, it seems to be correctly recognized but when I press the key on my MIDI keyboard it makes a ;

Same story for the ; that produces an m while the m produces an m as expected.

Also, I can't set the ) key as it's confused with the - .

It seems that the software behaves like a regular US QWERTY keyboard for the symbols but as a legit FR AZERTY for the letters.

Is there a way to configure the FR keyboard properly ?

Hi, please be patient while I check with the developers on this.

Thanks !

I have this problem on Mac only, on Windows it’s fine.

The workaround is to add the UK QWERY keyboard in MacOS and switch to it when needed. It’s not very convenient but does the trick until it’s fixed.

Hi I’m glad you found a workaround while I’m exploring if there are other ways to address this issue. I appreciate your patience.

Hi, MIDI Translator Pro has extensive keyboard detection and handling, so this seems to be a new bug — it has definitely worked on Mac before. Maybe it was also introduced by a new version of macOS — things like that have happened before with macOS updates.

We’ll look into it and report here.
Best,
