Mackie Hui/MCU support

Hi Steve,
Thanks for your time with this, appreciate the link for the midi scripts too, interesting stuff!
You are correct saying FL Studio doesn’t support multiple Mackie devices I got the same result, as I’ve tried and tested this with no success for 16 faders but 8 channel faders works no problem.

Now, I’m asking this because I’m sceptical about this so What are your thoughts on a Yamaha mixer working with the “FL Studio MIDI controller scripts for the Behringer X-Touch + extenders on (MCU)?

You could try it. I think the extenders use a different device ID though.
You would still need the MT Pro script for HUI to MCU.

Hi Steve.
I tried the xtouch script files and the progress report is that they worked using MT Pro, however the faders are on opposite sides of the board I.e Channels 1- 8 are controlled by faders 9-16 and vice versa.

I’ve tried various combination with the port numbers and xtouch main & extender files and either 1 side (left 1-8) works fine or like you found earlier, both ports control 1-8.

With a little tweaking of the files, to make the 9-16 work as they should this would be mission accomplished but I know nothing about writing code etc.
What help/advice and wisdom can you shed light on please? HELP!

T!

Not sure if I can here as we are probably at the mercy of the FL-Studio Script. With that said, show me how you have it set up (screen shot) and maybe something will jump out at me.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Sadly it works on launch but loading a project kills any response and I checked the setting etc, nothing changed, the mixer just didn’t respond to the xtouch script

Think I may reach out to the gent who wrote the code and see if he can help but its a very long shot or are you any good with code? If so would you tinker with it for a fee?

For Python Scripting it is probably better to work with the guy that wrote the script. Too bad you don’t get any support from Imageline. Most other DAWs have this feature included.

did you ever get the hui to work on fl?

I’m pretty sure that HUI is not supported on FL Studio but I believe Mackie MCU is but only for 8 tracks.

I have some examples of project files that can do some conversion of HUI, to MCU if you are interested. I did this with Ableton Live which also supports MCU but not HUI.

Hi
No!
I couldn’t get the MCU to HUI ableton files to work sadly! however I did get better 2.Way communication with this; GitHub - bramdebouvere/fltouch: FL Studio MIDI controller scripts for the Behringer X-Touch + extenders (MCU)

FL does respond to this touch file, however it still
Needs a little tweaking for it to work perfectly
meter level, transport etc need attention and if that is responsive, everything will be wonderful.

Good luck

This simple project file will work with FL Studio 21 using a HUI device. As I mentioned earlier, only 8 faders will be supported which is a limitation of the FL Studio Implementation.

Here is how I set up my aliases in MT Pro. In my case my X-touch is my HUI device.

You can learn more about aliases from this tutorial.

Here is how FL Studio is set up.

Faders are working in both directions. I have not checked other functions such as track-up track down etc, however I have achieved these functions in Ableton Live. There are likely other project files in this forum that are a more complete implementation.
