WIFI client with static IP

Hi!

Is it possible to set a static ip when in WIFI client mode?
There is no DHCP server on our network. And no ethernet cable connections.

All help apreciated!

Best Regards,
Jan

Yes, this can be done in advanced setting but is generally not reommended.

In WiFi normal setting set it up as a Hotspot.

Then go to advanced settings and then iterface and select wifi.

You can change the IP address and then check “Disable DHCP for this interface”

We never recommend setting anything in advanced options as unless you really know what you are doing, you can mess things up. There is less (or no) protection in messing up a configuration in the advanced options screen, where the setting in the primary options are pretty much bullet proof. With that said, you can still lock yourself out if you do something wrong but that is what the network recovery procedure can fix.
