Any advantage to using more than one input and output port

I sometimes still get MIDI Buffer overruns (rarely though), and wonder if it makes sense to split the MIDI messages in and out between several in and out ports rather than to use just one. I’m using only one in and one port presently.
Does splitting up the work make any sense?
Thanks,
Gabriel

I think it would only be a limiting factor if they are MIDI DIN ports. USB or network ports would be much faster and generally should not cause bottlenecks. If I remember you are running multiple APC-MINI’s and historically the issue was sending too much MIDI to them would cause the APC-MINI to crash. I recall we decided to not send MIDI messages back to faders since they are not motorized.
