Is it possible to have an Arduino send MIDI commands directly to the BomeBox wirelessly using RTP MIDI? Will the device be recognized as a MIDI device, or is this entirely out of scope? I’ve seen older threads requesting RTP MIDI support on the box - has there been any update on that?
I want to create small MIDI foot pedals that send MIDI wirelessly to the BomeBox without needing a PC or other devices.
If anyone has a similar project, I’d love to hear how you did it.
No, RTP-MIDI is not currently supported on BomeBox. It is on our list but we can’t make any commitments as to its future support.
With that said, using the Allen & Health protocol, you could send raw TCP packets to the BomeBox. You would configure the Allen and Heath page manually with the IP address and port number of any network device. I have tested this with Pd (Pure Data)Tool running on my Windows PC.
BomeBox will also accept serial connections via USB dongle. With the MIDI library, I’ve been told that also works but these options are not wireless.
