BMIDI translator gets stuck when monitoring incoming midi from Traktor

Hello
I was trying to monitor incoming MIDI messages from NI Traktor (I have version pro3.0). I set up Traktor to output its midi to BMT1 and when I press the corresponding command in traktor it works two times, after this it will not respond anymore. It also looks that if I close BMIDI Translator it will not restart and I have to restart windows (W11). I only have traktor installed in this computer. I am not sure if there is any NI background process running that could cause the issue.

Hi,

Maybe this solution from Native Instruments might help.

It is not related to Traktor but I think they use the BMIDI driver in several of their products.

Thank you Steve
I tried and the problem persisted; however later I have found out that it only occurs with a specific midi controller. This is a controller I created myself with an arduino leonardo. It works with another of my DIY controllers. Not a problem as I am don’t need to use the one that isn’t working. I am actually making a new controller specifically for Traktor so hopefully it will work well with that. thanks again for your help.

You probably had a MIDI loop on that controller then which overloaded the MIDI port. If you have MIDI thru turned on on your Arduino controller, turn it off to avoid the loop.

Thanks Steve, If there is one I did not intentionally put it there, but it’s good to know, so I will pay attention to this when building the new controller! cheers!!.
