Bome box died suddenly after Osmose firmware update

My Bome box has suddenly died. I had just updated my Osmose to the latest 2.3 firmware (directly from the computer, bypassing the Bome box). Then after I plugged the Osmose back into the USB hub connected to the Bome box I noticed the osmose froze until I unplugged its USB port. After doing a bit of plugging and unplugging to test it, I noticed that all the lights of the Bome box had gone off except for the occasional flashing of the ethernet lights. The Bome box is powered through PoE, which works. I also tried powering it through USB. When I plug the PoE in, the Bome box lights flash briefly then it goes dead again. What happened? Is my Bome box bricked?

Update: I unplugged everything from the Bome Box before repowering it with PoE and it has come back to life. So far it hasn’t lasted very long though, and the connection goes stale (and the lights go out) shortly after I plug the USB hub into it, even without any of the devices powered up and the Osmose completely unplugged.

But at least it dioesmt seem to be bricked. Will need more testing tomorrow.

You might want to try a different POE port or POE adapter. Also try powering it by USB (with no devices attached). Finally a different ethernet cable to POE In port of the BomeBox.
