is there anything special to consider connecting two Bome boxes via a dedicated VLAN within a Luminex managed fibre network?
Did this with kiss boxes and timecores before without any hassle and can’t see why it shouldn’t work with Bome boxes but don’t have access to Bome boxes to check before the showday…
So any hints appreciated..
(it is a pure lighting network without any dante stuff or similar within)
A VLAN is a function of a managed switch so your VLAN definition would depend on which ports on your switch a given VLAN sends to. Any devices on that port would not recognize or know that it is on a particular VLAN, it would just send and receive traffic for the switch’s assigned VLAN.

thanks a lot for your reply.
My basic question is if there are known issues or similar between Bome boxes in a dedicated VLAN.
The setup is dead simple and straight forward means:
Bome Box A connects to switch A into VLAN F
Switch A and Switch B are connected via ISL Fibre link
Bome Box B connects to Switch B in VLAN F
No other items or protocols within this VLAN.
I can’t see any problem why this should not work just asking if there are any user experiences or known issues in a setup like this..
This should be possible. I have not heard of any problems. With that said, for automatic discovery to work, both BomeBoxes , regardless of physical location, will need to share the same broadcast domain. This means a broadcast from one Bomebox will be seen by all other Bomeboxes in that VLAN.
You might need to set up VLAN trunking which is beyond the scope of Bome support and is more tied to network configuration.
