Bome Box suddenly not connecting to Bome Network. I have other devices that are still connected & working

Hi,

I’m currently using 4x Bome boxes in my network. I’ve been touring it and it all worked really well last tour. We’re currently in the last day of rehearsals for a new tour & one of the Bome boxes has decided it isn’t connecting to the network, its been working all this week. I’ve tried various cat cables & nothing is getting it to connect to the network.

The device is powering up via POE. When I try to click pair or wifi on the box nothing is happening so can’t access the settings.

What could be causing it + the next steps to get it working again? I’m on a bit of a time crunch.

Thanks, Ali

I’ve formatted a 16gb FAT32 usb to restore the device to factory defaults as I can’t connect via Wifi to see the device setting but nothing is happening. The Wifi / Power lights also look pretty dim when powered up.

Any ideas of what it could be or I could try?

Hi, sorry for the delay? Are you daisy chaining the BomeBoxes with ethernet or do you have them individually connected to a POE switch? For every BomeBox that is daisy changed, there may be some power loss. If daisy chained is it the last BomeBox in the chain?

Did you try powering it via USB to see what happens?

Hey Steve,

Not daisy chaining them. I’m running 2x MacBooks into a Netgear POE switch then out to the bome boxes on stage.

3x of them are still working fine it’s just the 1x that’s decided today it’s not going to play ball.

I tried powering via USB. The device is on but the power / WiFi lights look very dim. Nothing is flashing either. Tried a factory reset + network reset via USB and no lights flash too. I’m using a 16gb Sandisk formatted FAT32 via MacBook as can’t connect to the WiFi.

All fixed IPs.
