Hi. I frequently need to make tweaks to my Bome setup. Up until recently I was having zero issues, but now, I don’t seem to be able to connect to the box, using the wifi connect and the Bome Network on my mac.
For context, I’m using Bome Network v1.6.0 and both it and the Bome Box seem to be up to date on firmware.
After trying all day, on multiple WiFi enabled devices, nothing will connect to the Bome Box now. I think I’m likely looking at a full factory reset, but I’m not sure. I have just ruled almost everything out at this point and I’m still not able to access it. The Catch 22 is, the factory reset tutorial instructs me to do it from the Network dashboard, whis I am unable to connect to.
Hi Steve. Thanks. After struggling, I found that USB thumbdrive guidance and followed it to the letter. Here’s exactly where I’m at, at the moment:
The unit is powered on and the wifi light is solidly illuminated.
I’ve followed the instructions for reseting, using a FAT formatted USB drive, under 16 gb.
Whenever I reboot everything after following the reset instructions, the wifi network that I formerly had shows up, no matter what I do (did I miss a reset step?).
I think that about covers the steps, so far. It’s like I cannot get it to go back to its default state, no matter what I throw at it. It’s the oddest thing.
Leading zeros on the serial number is important. The serial number needs to be exact.
Make sure they are number zeros and not letter ohs.
Make sure any ones are number ones and not letter I’s.
If you copied the file from a Windows computer, make sure that file extensions are visible so the file
name is not 0012345678_reset_network.txt.txt
Try another thumb drive
I don’t remember but the SSID I think changes back to “BomeBox”.
Make sure if trying to access it, you enter the right default wireless IP address in the browser. (192.168.153.1 )
