Is it possible to run Bome Network Pro under different user profiles (accounts) on the same machine? We’re running ProPresenter on a Mac Studio. Primary setup is under a ‘production’ user. But we run ProPresenter under an alternative ‘youth’ account - with limited access, functionality, and a simplified setup.
Specifically, the production account ProPresenter connects with Ableton, LightKey, and ATEM. The ‘youth’ account ProPresenter connects with just LightKey.
We tried switching to the youth account after setting up the production account to find Bome Network Pro unlicensed. We added a license (Two on the same machine at that point. One for each account). Then chaos ensued. Bome went crazy finding, connecting, then dropping connections to the other machines. The activity spammed the network so hard it caused the network interface on one of the other Macs to crash.
I did check - Bome is installed under the root Libary (i.e. /Library) not the user’s local library.
Unless I misunderstood, I think your specific instructions are for Bome MIDI Translator Pro, but I was able to follow along for Bome Network Pro. Initial tests look good!
Oh, I’m not sure if you can run two instances of Bome Network Pro. I don’t think this has been tested. Ideally both users should be able to use the same instance but just access different MIDI ports.
Sorry for not reading the details! Maybe if you explain why you need two users, that would help me. There is no protection between users in Bome Network Pro .
