I usually say “if you can use a cable, then do it” but now I just have a BomeBox and a Metric Halo interface on a gigabit switch. If I configure the BomeBox for WiFi as a client, I would not need the switch anymore.
My BomeBox controls two USB hubs with 12 USB devices. I need short latency for keyboard and MIDI guitar. The connection via cable works really well, should I expect disadvantages via WiFi?
Well with WiFi you are always at risk of environmental factors or local RF frequencies competing or interfering with your WiFi. You can try it but I would recommend you keep your cables and switch handy.
