Hi all!
I recently bought a MidiSport 4x4 for use with my BomeBox.
This one is older than I initially thought, and on my Ubuntu machine, getting the MidiSport to run required that I…
apt-get install midisport-firmware
from the linux console.
Does the BomeBox offer any access to the linux console so that I could get this package to load on there?
Hi Steve. Thank you, It’s good to be here. Thank you for the quick reply!
I have plenty of Class Compliant USB Devices. I think I have about eight hooked into the BomeBox already
Now that you mention it, I can just use one of the Aux MIDI ports on one of those to hook up to my old midi sampler. That should keep me moving forward for now. Thanks again!
There is now a firmware loader for BomeBox to enable Midisport devices. It can be got at
You have to use scp to copy the files to the BomeBox and then (if ssh is enabled) ssh to start a shell to run the installer. I have only tested it on a solitary device, a M-Audio branded Midisport 4x4, so no guarantees.
