I recently got myself an Akai Midi Mix. Little did I know that the buttons on there were momentary.
I have read some posts here regarding solutions for the Akai Midi Mix, but I can’t exactly confirm whether the solution is already there for me.
I would like to know if a Bome rule can be created so that my Midi Mix momentary buttons become toggle buttons. So basically, I want to use the Midi Mix momentary buttons as toggle On/Off buttons. I hope there is an easy solution in BMT.
Hello Steve. I seem to be having some issues with my Midimix all of a sudden, so I couldn’t use your preset yet. My buttons don’t light up when I press them and I don’t remember them being that way. Also, the Midimix suddenly couldn’t be powered on my usb 3 hub port and now only works on an usb 2 hub, which I find strange. And when I start Ableton only 6 buttons light up and I can’t turn them off. I hope I can solve this, but so far it looks very weird.
Ok. So I loaded the default Akai Midi Mix settings again to make sure that there were no issues there. I also removed the Akai Midi Mix as a control surface in the Ableton Control Surface list, which gets automatically loaded and which is very annoying because I never use it in that capacity. I got your Bome file running. It works. The buttons turn on and off. Thank you.
Yes, removing the Ableton MIDI remote script is a good idea if you never use it. I move it to a backup folder just in case I every want to use it again. Also, yes the project file I sent you assume that your MIDIMix is at factory default settings.
You can always return it to factory default by loading the MIDIMix editor and saving it to your MIDIMix without changing anything. The default configuration load when you load the editor.
