Hello - I’m trying to put a Bome Box between my MIDI controller (Korg SQ-1) and a Raspberry Pi running a video looper, with the BB translating MIDI notes to keystrokes in order to advance the video. I have MIDI coming into the BB from the SQ-1 via DIN MIDI, and hoping to send USB MIDI from the BB to the Pi. Both have USB-A ports. What’s the best way to connect the two devices? Thanks for any help
Hi and welcome to the Bome community!
You cannot connect a usb host (BomeBox) to another usb host. The best way to connect them is with Bome Network.
The down load links are on the below page for both 32 and 64 bit. (Scroll down until you see them.

Ah, thanks for the quick reply, @SteveC. I believe the video looper software I’m using runs on a custom OS, which I guess would prevent me from running the Bome Network software on the Pi. Though I could be wrong? It’s videolooper dot de (sorry it won’t let me post links here)
Yes, it is written for Raspian, You might need to get a MIDI HAT or use USB to serial adapters to connect between the systems then.

I’m pretty sure that videolooper uses raspian internally, so Bome Network should run on it. Have you tried it?
Thanks for the reply, @FlorianBome. I think you’re right — I’m just not sure how to install it / set it up on the Pi (the videolooper runs automatically on startup)
Probably just log in and put the executable in your home folder and run it. You will need to set up routing within the Bome Network GUI.
