Hello. Are there any resources that show how to set up my Bome Box to connect my Novation Launch Control XL HARDWIRED to my CQ18T? I need to be able to control my volume, mutes, mute groups/solos and send levels without taking any computers to gigs. I keep hearing this is possible but cant find any consistent info. Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the Bome community! You would need to plug your LCXL into the USB host port of your BomeBox and use a network cable to connect between the BomeBox and A&H CQ. You would also need Bome MIDI Translator Pro to develop your project file on Mac or PC and then upload it to BomeBox for execution. The attached file is an example of fader 1 (factor 1) to control the CQ L/R Level. This document provides the necessary MIDI commands to control the CQ. hi i would like to further discuss this because it’s exactly what i want to do = no computer at the show but just a MIDI controller USB into the BomeBox and then an Ethernet cable PoE OUT of the BomeBox into the ALlen Hath CQ18T It seems the CQ is not easy to connect to for MIDI cases using Ethernet At the moment I can’t seem to Detect it from the ‘Allen and HEath’ page on the Settings of BomeBox I have CQ as IP address 192.168.1.2 Subnet 24 Gateway 192.168.1.1 Ethernet settings of BomeBox : Fixed IP 192.168.1.3 Netmask 255.255.255.0 If I go to the Allen and Hath page I click Add manual device by IP input the CQ IP address but still it says unreachable Do I need to use the AH MIDI Control app on a computer simultaneously ? What I am doing wrong ? Thanks for the help

Hi, if your ethernet address of the BomeBox is fixed at 192.168.1.3. Then that should also be the gateway for the CQ but I’m not convinced that is the problem. Perhaps you need to specify the port number of the CQ as well. I think it is 51325 so your manual connection should be “192.168.1.2:51325”. Give that a try. Yes some of the newer A&H devices are not automatically detected so you have to do the manual connection. Also, I’m not sure if the CQ can connect to multiple clients at the same time. I suspect not so if you are connecting with a surface or software, you may need to disconnect the other device.
