The purpose of this post is simply to illustrate the kind of capabilities that can be achieved using Bome software.
About 6 years ago, I created a software-based MIDI router for my studio using MIDI Translator Pro, Bome Network, Keyboard Maestro and some custom HTML. I use this utility multiple times every day. It is essentially a giant patch matrix that allows me to map any input device to any combination of output hardware/software destinations. Mapping a connection is as simple as clicking the corresponding checkbox in the grid and you can save up to 3 pre-configured routes for instant recall. Theoretically, the total number of saved routes could be expanded to any number, but I find that three is more than sufficient for my needs. I mostly use the saved routes as the starting ground to get me quickly to a known setup and tweak any additional connections from there.
The attached video shows the window that appears on my Mac’s display any time I press the shortcut (CMD-quote). I included the MTP window beside it to show part of what is happening behind the scenes every time you make/break a connection or recall a saved route.
Hope you like it.
