I am using BMTP with no translations. I only want to use it for direct router connections. Can I leave the default ports unchecked or do I need to check off the used ports in the default section in order for the router section to work?
You will not be able to draw lines (with your mouse) on the MIDI router if you haven’t checked any ports as they will not be displayed. You need to check the ones that you are using and then draw lines between them.

Thank you Steve. It looks like that applies when the ‘Only display project MIDI aliases/ports’ is checked off. I did not have that checked and it showed and allowed all ports to be connected regardless of the MIDI Input and output sections.
Ah yes. It appears that if you draw lines between the ports, it automatically opens them.
