I am using keytostroke_to_MIDI to be able to play midi inside my DAW.
However the keystrokes interfere with all the DAW shortcuts is there a quick way to disable the normal keyboard behavior and then enable it back again when I need it?

By putting your keystroke to MIDI translators under a single preset and then disabling that parent preset, you can disable those translators.
You can use the Application Focus ‘Activated’ incoming trigger to disable the preset when your DAW is focused and then use Application Focus ‘Deactivated’ to re-enable it again.
Note for incoming keystroke triggers, the original keystrok is not suppressed.
With that said, this post can provide some possible work-arounds.
