Hi guys.
Hope you’re all fine.
Was just wondering if a ‘next frame’ or ‘previous frame’ command does exist within the Mackie control protocol.
Could hardly find any info yet.
Kind regards
Jacques

Hi and welcome back!
Unlike video, audio does not have the concept of frames. The audio stream is at a given bit rate so depending on the bit rate, moving forward or back you probably cannot define move forward by frame.
With that said, the Mackie MCU does have a “jog wheel” that allows you to move forward or back on the time line. The amount of time you that is moved is undefined and is really up to the DAW to figure out, maybe by the display resolution set by the DAW.
I think there may be different modes for smaller and larger resolution.
The Mackie MCU protocol commands for moving the jog wheel foward or backward are shown below.
In addition there is MIDI time code (MTC) which is similar to SMTPE (or LTC) which transmits the current location being played, however I don’t think there is anything within MCU that actually handles repositioning of the playhead. It is primarily used for display purposes from a MIDI perspective, however some DAWs may have a user interface (outside of MIDI) to position the playhead at a given location.
