I’m using Bome SendSX as my midi monitoring tool, and have Bome Network Pro running on two Windows 11 machines on the same local network.
Machine 1: ‘Asimina’ has an Arutia Keylab Essential 61 attached via USB. Bome SendSX can see all of its midi messages (and it operates Arturia’s Analog Lab V just fine).
Machine 2: ‘Myrica’ has only Bome Network and Bome SendSX running.
MIDI Router on Asimina shows:
In: (KL Essential …) → Out: To Myrica (ticked)
In: From Myrica → Out: Myrica Virtual Out (unticked)
In: Myrica Virtual In → Out: To Myrica (unticked)
MIDI Router on Myrica shows:
In: Asimina Virtual In → Out: To Asimina (unticked)
In: From Asimina → Out: Asimina Virtural Out (unticked)
Bome SendSX on Asimina sees Myrica, SendSX on Myrica sees Asimina.
Yet I don’t get any MIDI any messages from Asimina on Myrica.
If you want to get KL Esstinal on Myica to show up you could do 1 of 2 things
On Myrica click on KL Essential to see the ports available on Asimina. You should see something like KL Essential. If you turn the switch on you would then see the port “Asimini:KL Essential” and then you could monitor what is coming from thate remote port. This is called Remote Direct MIDI.
My first machine is called “Steve-Gaming” and I would click here.
It would open up a screen that looks like this that shows all available ports on my first machine.
Then with SendSX you could select “Asimina:KL Essential”.
2 )Or you could set up a route on Asimina as follows (using advance Routing.
In: KL Essential → In:Myrica
and then you would see it on Myrica as “Asimina” using SendSX.
Any time your route from machine to machine you have to use In to IN since the input of what machine is monitoring the input on the other machine.
Personally, I usually like to use Remte Direct MIDI (option 1) as it is more intuitive and gives you finer control of monitoring only specific devices on the source machine.
You can find a tutorial of Remote Direct MIDI here..
For advanced routing, using Bome Network you can refer to this post.
