Hibernation

Hibernation causes translator to loose its connections that then have to be re-established. Is there any work-around that would alleviate the problem? - Thanks

Unfortunately, this is usually something that would need to be handled by the OS platform. I would recommend you either turn hibernation off or perhaps periodically send a keystroke from Bome (like ESC key) periodically (with a timer) to see if that can prevent computer hibernation.

Hibernation is intentional to avoid leaving everything plus 6 USB devices powered up overnight, so I guess I’ll just have to live with having to re-route everything in the AM. Right??

Yes, likely. By hibernating a USB port, by default it will shut down the driver. You might want to check with your OS to see if there is a way to turn of hibernation on select USB ports only. I’m sure this would be an advance configuration option if available at all.

Thanks so much

I have some issues with BOME ports not working after Windows hibernation. They show up fine in MIDI services, the issue is likely somewhere between Faderport and BOME, I didn’t pinpoint the exact problem.

I have resolved it by a scheduled bat script that kills/stops and re-starts all the post-hibernation partially non-responsive parts of my audio/midi setup - Element (VST host), BOME, MIDI services… it works all fine after that, but needs this sequential restart to come fully alive.

@radekpilich

Did you try that latest preview MIDI update that came out about 4 days ago?

I know that the new MIDI services stack had problems discovering/emumerating ports so maybe the new update fixed this.

I am running the latest.

Steve had confirmed on Discord today that they still have issues with hibernation.

Thanks for the update! You mean Pete though, don’t you?

Yes, I’m having some issues with my brain’s hibernation recently, so it got the names of you two confused :slight_smile:
