How to connect boss me80 to bomebox?

Hi,

I’d like to connect my pedalboard Boss ME80 to the bomebox
Problem it doesn’t show in Bome network nor in bome settings webpage.
I tried to connect directly to the bomebox, and to a powered USB hub

When connected directly to the computer, it shows in BMTP and I can send MIDI messages to change patches.

What am I missing ?

Hi,

If you go to the BomeBox MIDI ports page, does the ME80 show up there?

If you do then on you computer you should be able to select the Remote Direct MIDI port on your computer. Please see this tutorial which connects to a to a Remote Direct MIDI port on a computer but the procedure for connecting to a port on a BomeBox is the same.

Note, that you will only be able to use MIDI (no Audio) through your USB connection on your BomeBox.

No it doesn’t show in the midi ports list…

If it doesn’t show on the MIDI ports list it may not be USB class compliant.

Do you need to load any drivers when you connect it directly to a computer? Class compliant devices generally do not need and special drivers.

Damn you’re right, there’s a pilot for it. The ME80 wont be recognized by BMTP without a pilot, which windows installs automaticaly as soon as I connect the pedalboard directly to the computer, provided wifi is on of course…

Tell me there’s a way round…

Not unless there is a MIDI DIN connector but looking at the manual, it doesn’t look like it.

It’s a dead end then… untill I buy a new pedalboard that fits those prerequisites :heart_eyes:
