I have developed an extensive solution that I would like to make commercially available. I know how crazy that sounds but play along please. Is there a way to secure the code, okay, rules, so they cannot be freely copied and re-distributed?
No compile option, I’m aware of.
is there a way to lock code into a Bome Box without restricting some access to Bome Box settings which might need to be altered?
The size is large. Hundreds of rules. Many thousands of lines .
There is a product called MT Player. For pricing you would need to ask via the Contact Form. It allows you to comple your Bome MIDI Translator Pro script along with a runtime that allows a person to run (but not view or edit the project).

The solution would allow user configuration of alias but really not anything else. For anything else, you might add MIDI messages that do some configuration switching like perhaps changing routes based on some incoming MIDI message for example.

Is there any way to read or write text files for configuration of preferences and settings?
If a DAW is running, you could save settings as midi commands. I’ll have to give that some thought. Text file would be easier way to record small bits of data such as customized presets.
