I have a problem with the configuration of my launchpad... please Help (OBS/Launchpad)

Hello,

i have a problem with my configuration. I buy a Launchpad X and will use it for OBS Studio. I see youtube tutorials about the configuration but be me is a problem.

When I press a button on the pad, nothing happens. I have activated the midi ports but I think there is an error there.

Midi in is green but i dont get the Midi Out… it come by Router out. I check all ways but all time the same problem. I hope anybody can help me.

Hi and welcome to the Bome community!

I don’t have a Launchpad X but if I remember, different ports are used depending on the state of the device.

I would suggest that you select all Launchpad X input ports that it exposes and then use the log window to see the incoming MIDI messages, by selecting MIDI IN.

See the illustration below. This example if for my Lauchpad Pro.

To me, the activity window is of limited use and the log window provides much more information.

Oh and another thing, if you can’t open the ports (ie, they show pending), then there is likely another application holding them open (like Ableton Live). On Windows only a MIDI port can only be used by one application or device at a time. For this reason, Bome MIDI Translator Pro offers multiple virtual ports so you can merge or split ports.

Thanks for your fast answer / service.

i make this but nothing happen at OBS Studio. Here are 2 new Screenshots about what you send me.

Here is an example.

First of all here are how my alias is set up.

You will need to set it up for your incoming Launchpad port (LPX MIDI2).

You can learn more about aliases from this tutorial.

In this case, I’m using the following rule in translator 1.0 to focus the OBS application and then sending a keystroke with a 20ms delay. This gives time for focus to complete and ensure the keystroke is going to OBS.

The keystroke sent is Control-Q as in your example.

Focus-OBS-then-Keystroke.bmtp (1.6 KB)

This tutorial describe the new ‘Perform’ feature of Bome MIDI Translator Pro

Okay i make it same like you but it dont work :frowning:

I send you 3 Screenshots and on the last when i take at the Midi Router LPX Midi 2 to Microsoft Midi Mapper they play sound effekte. All pads have sound effect but the frist pad where i put Ctrl(Q) there is no sound. All other pads have sound at the launchpad. Wehn i deleted the Microsoft Midi Mapper they dont play any sound.

Do you want to play sound in addition to keystrokes?

If so take of the ‘Swallow’ option on the keystroke translator.

You said nothing about sending sound out to anywhere so my example was only for incoming MIDI to outgoing keystroke.

You didn’t add a translator to focus obs. Did you use the project file I sent?

There needs to be 2 translators,

The first will will have a rule to perform ‘focus obs’ and then send a keystroke with a delay.

The second is the perform action to focus obs, the outgoing action is to select the appropriate application. It this case obs64.exe.
