Ignore incoming MIDI until a certain MIDI code arrives

Happy New Year to all of you !

I already have a question for 2024. Is it possible to instruct the midi translator to ignore all further incoming data after a condition is met until a certain incoming trigger is received and another condition is met?

Hi, and happy new year!

Yes, the following example should work.

In translator 0.0, I use Note-on Note 16 MIDI CH 1 to disable all processing within Bome MIDI Translator Pro (MT Pro).

The only way to reenable processing is with Note-On Note 17 on MIDI CH 1 as shown in translator 0.1.

Thank you, Steve. Good to know that it can be done this way.

In the end, however, I don’t need it, as I have found a better solution to my problem, (which was to avoid a MIDI loop).

Anyway, does this filter out the MIDI messages or just inhibit MIDI processing?

I’m not 100% sure, it may be that rules still execute, but any other processing done by the translators are inhibited. Not only MIDI but keystrokes and mouse actions as well. The only translator that would work would be the one to start processing again, so it must be still monitoring for input triggers.
