Inter-application midi ports

Dears, I m switching to a new mac and i need to re-connect Bome with the other applications: Ableton, Bandhelper and maybe others later. For my earlier Mac I ended up with a messy situation where I saw “BMT1; BMT2; Bome Midi Translator 1 - 2” next to “Bandhelper” and “Ableton” - so my question: what is the correct way to install the inter-application midi links? (while staying future-proof for a future Bome-box)

Hi, to use Bome MIDI Translator virtual ports, one end of the connection needs to be Bome MIDI Translator Pro and the other end anything but Bome MIDI Translator Pro.

You put Bome MIDI Translator Pro in between the devices and the virtual ports.

Depending on your settings they either have long names like “Bome MIDI Translator Virtual Port 1” or short names like “BMT 1”.

Typically this is what ports you select within the application.

BomeBox does not have virtual ports but you can use aliases and then tie them to network ports to your applications across the network using Bome Network.

I hope this answers your question.
