Keystroke Output Has Stopped (PC) windows 10

I have been using bio midi translator pro trial for a number of years, and I have never had any problems with it. Recently I finally gave in and bought the full version because of the 20 minutes timeout limit. It program worked great that day. however, after I shut down my computer for the night and then restarted this morning, none of the keystroke outputs were working anymore. The midi in indicator lights up but the out indicators (that is shaped like a five-pronged plug) no longer lights up and keystrokes are no longer emulated. Please let me know if there's a simple solution I am missing. I've been trying to fix this all afternoon.

Outgoing Keystrokes will not happen unless MT Pro is (not) in focus. The should work fine with your application if it is in focus (assuming you have the right MIDI in port selected).

If this doesn’t work, I’d need to look at your project file.

There is an option in settings to allow keystrokes when focused however normally this option is not selected as it can mess you up when you are within MIDI Translator Pro and testing incoming MIDI controls. It would actually send the keystrokes to MT Pro.

sure not a problem ,
test project.txt (258 Bytes)
i hope that’s what you asked for.

it just doesn’t type in a text box or anywhere

and just in case it wasn’t here are some pics

Hi,

Well I was looking for the .bmtp file but the exported text file will work too.

In the exported text file it looked like this

Project: 787
 Project MIDI IN ports: WORLDE
_____________________________________________________________
[ ] Preset 0: New (2) Preset

[ ] Translator 0.0: test
Incoming: Note On on any channel with note:48 (0x30) and any velocity
Outgoing: Keystrokes: S

Which means neither the preset or the translator was selected.

Your screen shot shows the translator selected but not the preset.

So in your project file, simply check the box as indicated above.

Also keep in mind that after exporting to text you cannot import from text so simply save the project file and it will save as .bmtp type. Then you can just open it with MT Pro and do the editing there.

Then make sure that MT Pro is NOT IN FOCUS when sending your keystroke. If you want to focus to another application, you can have a translator with an outgoing action to set focus to a given application, then send your keystroke with a small delay.

See the attached example.

still nothing…

i checked everything the five prong thing and the keystrokes side are not lighting up for me either

i even downloaded your bmtp file and it did not pop open notepad

maybe because my midi uses usb ? but even so it is detected… so i doubt that’s the issue.

Hi,

Can you enable logging and enable “Incoming”, “MIDI IN” and “Outgoing” and show me a screen shot of what you see?

Did you set your Alias “My Controller” in the project file I sent to to your WorldE

Of course, for the project file I sent you to work, you must have notepad.exe open (if on Windows) If you are on Mac, then whatever Mac application you are sending the keystroke to.

even with the implicit checked nothing

now it’s saying it can’t find the exe , does this need to be installed on the same drive as the os ?

I have reached the point where i would use screen share to get this to work!

Yes, looking at MIDI In you are not sending Note # 5 so it will not work that way.

You are sending note 30(hex) with is note 48 Decimal. Change the incoming Note to note 48 and it should work for you.

Alternatively you can click capture MIDI message and then click on the desired message to pull the incoming message into the incoming trigger.

And the project file.
