My Ableton Master Set for a wedding band is huge over 140GBS in size
We use Multitracks and these are to allow for different band member scenarios, 2, 3 or 5 piece options.
I’ve enough RAM (32gb) and CPU (i9) power but I’m looking to break my sets into smaller Sets and use MTP to load the sets via Midi Translator
My set up is triggering a song selection on Bandhelper app via iPad this triggers a location marker in Ableton and starts transport play button via midi notes to start the track
IAC drivers use midi notes to start metronome for click
IAC also uses midi note to auto stop playback at end of the track
So my goal and aim is to use Bandhelper to send a midi note on song selection to MTP, then for this to then translate this midi note or trigger a second midi message to load an ABLETON LIVE SET
I’ve a big project coming up and deadline is close
Can you direct me as to how to achieve this at your earliest convenience
Would really appreciate your help and guidance and thank you in advance
If it helps I also have Network Pro and unlimited virtual ports add on too if this helps with a solution
I can happily say this is a super solution for not having to load master sets in Ableton
My setup is an iPad hosting an app called Bandhelper, this hosts lyrics, chords and sends midi.
Each song listed in Bandhelper triggers a midi note
This is captured in MT PRO and a preset is named the same song title
The outgoing action is “execute file”
This is directed to the Ableton live set
This file is opened via the midi note triggered by song selection on the Bandhelper app and it’s done on the new Bome Network Pro from iPad to MacBook Pro
On a 32gb Ram i9 Mac it’s almost instant
Each Ableton live set is a multi track routed to 13 outputs to my MIDAS MR18
Yes, however you might need a delay to give the project file to complete loading. I don’t think there is any predictable MIDI that Ableton Live sends once a project file is loaded.
