Mac (Sequoia) Erasing Presets?

Strangest issue… Every time I restart my machine, my Bome presets get erased! Which means when I log in, I get no sound because all my routing (not complicated on this machine thankfully) is gone.

New Mac running 15.6.1 and Bome 1.9.1 build 1064

I could try locking the folder but this seems weird.

Strange. Is it:

  1. Losing the aliases
  2. Changing the routing
  3. Deleting the project file

For situation 1, the aliases are kept in a .bmts file as described here.

For 2, if you are using global variables, they all default to a value of 0 when the project file is opened unless you set them to some non-zero value as part of opening the project. Variables are not persistent when you close and re-open the project file.

For 3, maybe something in your system startup routines are erasing the .bmtp file. Try moving it to a different folder to see if that fixes it. Or make sure, that it is opening the project file in the correct folder.

I can’t imaging anything else that would mess things up.

Hi Steve!

Deleting the project file from the default “~/Documents/Bome MIDI Translator/Presets” folder. It deleted the presets I copied over from my old machine as well (at first I thought I was crazy)

I can’t think of what could be in the startup routine, but I will try moving them out and see what happens– will Bome load the project file at startup if it’s not in the default?

It should use the last project file that was opened when it starts up again.

If not, you would find it in recent files or you can open the file using the command line. The user guide explains how you would do this. Press Help or F1 within Bome MIDI Translator Pro.
