Would it be possible somehow, to use a vocal microphone (talkback microphone in studio running on rme ucxii to mac ableton 11) as a momentary trigger for the talkback function in rme interface software, so that it could be activated as soon as someone speaks into that microphone and deactivated when the talking stops …? That way I could activate it handsfree. Does that make sense?
Looking at the RME manual probably not. Bome MIDI Translator Pro does not accept an audio input signal so your RME interface would need this type of function but I don’t see an reference to anything like that.

You might try the Reagate plug-in from Cockos. I believe it is free. It seems to have a MIDI output capability when the gate is opened or closed.
You would put your mic through that plugin and it looks like you can configure it to send a given note-on when the gate opens and note off when the gate closes.
