As seen in the picture, my Elektron TM-1 USB MIDI interface is no longer selectable in the Bome Box.
This is a new problem. I used to power my Bomebox via PoE, and the TM-1 worked fine. Since changing to USB power (PoE injector seems to be broken), the TM-1 no no longer functions.
Sorry for your trouble. I assume you are using the micro usb port on your BomeBox for powering it and not the USB host port. You can only power from either POE or the micro usb. So if you have it in the right place, the most likely issue is the power being delivered to that port. Make sure it is not being used by a device that is a ‘fast charging’ port otherwise the BomeBox will be unstable because it requires consistent power and fast charging port usually increase or decrease the power depending on the current draw from the attached device. Did you try a different power adapter on the micro usb port?
Another thing to try is to disconnect other devices on your USB hub one by one in case one of the devices is drawing too much current. Is your usb hub a powered hub.? If not, you might try that. BomeBox can provide up to 1 amp of current on the USB host port but some USB devices don’t always behave. Since the POE delivers a higher voltage, it is makes the BomeBox less susceptible to slight variances in current draw than the usb power port, especially if you are using an unpowered USB hub for your MIDI devices.
