when i click F3 on my midi keyboard it activates ‘W’ on my PC keyboard but when i let go of F3 it activates ‘W’ again so basically its double pressing my PC keyboard when ive only played the note once on my midi keyboard.

Do you know what MIDI messages F3 is sending? If not, then please connect up Bome MIDI Translator and open the log window. Check the MIDI IN box at the bottom and then Press and release F3 so that we can see what it is sending.
