are there any ‘how to’s’, instructions or a manual for translator bn?
also, what are the differences between translator bn and running a translator on a bomebox?
and do i need a ‘graphical’ raspberry pi or terminal install to run translator on a ‘pi’?
Thanks…

Hi and welcome to the Bome community!
There is a tutorial for installing MIDI Translator BN here .
BomeBox is similar as running MIDI Translator BN as it is a runtime only meaning you cannot create or edit a MIDI Translator Project with it. It is a runtime and is designed to run the same wherever it installed. Since a BomeBox already has a built-in runtime, you don’t need MIDI Translator BN there.

The Raspberry operating system has it’s own graphical user interface. What you download for Bome Network is an executable file and all you do is run it and it will pull up the user interface when it starts. You will need Bome Network Pro to communicate with anything but a BomeBox. You will also need MIDI Translator BN to run a project on the Raspberry PI. When purchased you will get a network license which you will need to copy and paste into the license key field on your Raspberry PI.
In either case, you will need Bome MIDI Translator Pro to create or edit projects as only the purchased version signs the projects and neither BomeBox or MIDI Translator BN will run unsigned projects.
I hope this along with the video answers your qustions.
