My motu has digital gain for ch 3 - 8 but want to control the gain by hand.
I have and AKAI MPK Mini with 8 turning knobs, these should be gain controls through midi for the motu in the future. please help me do this. saves me money and time.

I am not familiar with either what MIDI your MPK sends for the knobs or what the software you have needs to receive to change the gain.
For what you MPK is sending, you can use Bome MIDI Translator Pro and select your MPK as the input device and then open the log window and move the knobs. Then copy and pasted the log data into a post so we can see.
For the software, if you have a manual of what it expects, then we are good. Is there any documentation that is explains how to set up an external MIDI device and describes what MIDI it needs to move the knobs? If you monitor the output of the software and move the software gain controls, does it put out any MIDI data?
