Another question, would it be possible to add controls to this so knob 3 controls the horizontal axis of the mouse and knob 4 controls the vertical axis of the mouse?

Just make it so that knob 3 sends CC60 and knob 4 sends CC61 in your MPK Editor.

I did that (actually in looking at the file, it is CC 80 and 81), however it now exhibits the problem that when you move the knobs, it continues to move and goes outside the screen even when you stop moving the knob. How do I correct that. Always is there a way to make the scrolling more smooth?

Change from relative to fixed (absolute) and no since resolution is only 128 (0-127), you will not get better resolution.

Or if you use CC80 and 81 then leave a relative but I would need to look at the incoming MIDI to see what it shows and adjust the rules of the translator accordingly.
