Multiple qwerty keyboards

I’ve got bome midi translator pro and was wondering if it’s possible to have two qwerty keyboards running at the same time but one of them expressing macros and the other acting as a normal keyboard.

Hi and welcome to the Bome community!

Unfortunately, unlike MIDI devices, neither Windows nor Mac differentiate between keyboards, so the answer here is no.

Ah well that sucks

Maybe you can find a MIDI controller that suits you in size, number of buttons and usability. Often available second-hand, if you know what you want.

This might be worth a look at.

It appears to be limited by the physical buttons available on a controller, but may be worth exploring further.

And it looks like its feasible under linux - Two keyboards two language layouts - Ask Ubuntu

And finally … This seems like an almost handy work around.

'You could still use ordinary keyboards by taping down the control key on one, alt key on another… etc. Less elegant, but cheaper :-).

Then just map the shifted keystrokes on one kepboard, etc .

FInal final final version 1.21 (honest) - http://www.hidmacros.eu/

There may be vendors out there that provide custom keyboard drivers to do this sort of thing. It is just not part of the standard stack that I know for any operating system that is used by Bome.
