Is there a way to make an ‘offline’ drum midi map translator using Bome? I want to use a drum midi file input and then output to a choice of a few other maps. Ideally, I would be able to select any midi drum file and then select an output using a choice of other drum maps. Other possible functionality would be volume matching. Thanks for any help.
If I understand correctly, you want to remap outgoing MIDI notes to alternate MIDI notes based on the drum kit selection. However when you state ‘offline’ you must mean that that the MIDI file that is sending notes needs to not be on a computer.
Bome MIDI Translator Pro can remap incoming MIDI notes to other MIDI notes, but it does not read MIDI files, so you would need something that actually reads the MIDI file and sends notes to Bome MIDI Translator Pro for remapping out to your drum machine.
If you have an ‘offline’ mechanism to read MIDI notes from a MIDI file and send them, then Bome MIDI Translator Pro could handle it from there. Some synths and workstations and most DAWs can do this.
I hope I’m understanding you correctly.

Yes - my hope was to be able to load a MIDI file with a particular map and then have Bome translate the notes to others specified by the new drum map.
What application would load the MIDI file. Can you specify where you want to send MIDI from that application?
Basically you could set up some Bome MIDI Translator Pro presets, each with their own note mapping and then by switching presets, you can have a different note map.
You would send the notes to a Bome Virtual port and then use MT Pro to map them out to your drum machine. Not exactly what I would call ‘offline’ though.
