Pair link disappeared from netmidi page

This morning I swear there was a link on the netmidi page of the webconfig of my Bomebox that enabled me to acknowledge a connection request, below the text I quote below. This afternoon, it has disappeared.
‘By default, you need to press the PAIR button to acknowledge a connection request (or confirm here, in the web config). Disabling this option will allow all connections without confirmation. For security, it is recommended to keep this on.’

I tried pressing the pair button on the hardware, and unticking the Confirm Connection with PAIR Button (recommended) box. The tick always comes back on page refresh. There is no feedback when I press the Pair button. Should the LED above it give some indication that it has been activated?

I have reflashed the firmware and used different browsers and operating systems to look at the webconfig: always with the same result. And the only port still showing is the DIN port, even though there is a keyboard plugged in to the USB port which showed this morning.

Has my Bomebox gone west or is there some thing eluding my overheated senses?

Hi,

With the box unchecked, it should not require pressing the pair button. If you are pairing manually, then the pair led will blink rapidly until the pair is complete. If this is not happening then it is likely pairing automatically. I confirmed this by using private mode on the Google Chrome browser where cache is not used. The checkbox stayed unchecked. There is no save button for this as it happens instantly.

Regarding the screen showing the box checked again, I can duplicate this problem. There is currently a situation where the browser cache is actually the view you are seeing and we are working on this problem in another firmware update.

In the meantime, if you initiate the pairing on the BomeBox and then set your computer to always accept MIDI connections, you will not need to accept the connection. You can actually download and use V 1.5.4 BomeBox firmware for this but it does not have the checkbox to automatically accept connection requests. You should know it is properly paired when the pair light is solid on your BomeBox or if you show it as connect in the NetMidi tool on your computer.

I hope this helps.

If it is indeed, not pairing, please get back to me.

Hello,

Okay, it has paired, but the LED is not lit. Also the only port that shows up is BomeBox DIN. I have a working Alesis Q49 plugged in to the USB port but this seems not to be detected. It was this morning, but not anymore.

Hi, this is highly unusual.

Try going to BomeBox1 at at bome.com and then download and install v1.5.4 from the archive link there and see if things get better. If not, use our contact form to make arrangements for repair or replacement.
