I’d like to be able to if one method of achieving a given task is more efficient than the other.
Is there a way to view how much processing is being used by MTP at any given time?
It probably doesn’t make all that much difference given how powerful machine are these days, but it would be good to know.

There are not built in performance monitoring tools, however you could use the host operating system tools to do this (like Windows task manager). I’ve found that in general performance is better with multiple translators as MT Pro can decide if some can be done in parallel using different threads. On the other hand, translators are extremely fast comparative to the much slower speed requirements of MIDI messages so I usually opt for less translators and more rules to simplify the code and seldom run into performance issues (unless I messed up how I structured the rules or translator order).
