I am looking to use PoE to power my BomeBox on a guitar pedalboard. The only power source I have to power the BomeBox is an MXR M242 power supply. I have a 9v 500ma output (2.1mm center negative barrel connector) on this power supply and would like to know if this PoE injector would be suitable: https://mm.digikey.com/Volume0/opasdata/d220001/medias/docus/1889/435_Web.pdf
Hi, I wouldn’t recommended it due to the footnote on the description (not true to POE spec). I suggest instead to use a USB power adapter of sorts to step down the power to 5 V from 9 V. 500ma is OK but certainly may not handle more tha 2 attached USB devices if you are using the BomeBox host port.
