Roland vs 1680 recording simultaneously with 1824c Presonus audio card

roland vs 1680 recording simltainesly with 1824c presonus audio card is that
possible SteveC using the bome midi translater pro like you have already programmed,
it really works good is it possible to record simultaneisly ?
Please help SteveC happy New Year 2025.
Reply as soon. Thank you.

It appears that they are both able to communicate with MIDI. Both appear to be audio recorder devices so you might need a mixer or similar to route your audio between them. What are you recording and what is the source? If I remember, with the 1680 we were simply controlling the Pro-Tools faders and such with MIDI. I think you were recording from Pro-Tools to the 1680. I think you would need a duplicate audio path to Presonus 1824.

The signal audio comes from vs 1680 roland and presonus 1824c and vice versa now thinking they record simultaneisly and viceversa.
Thank you also how to duplicate audio path to presonus is it copy track to paste track.
best regards.

Hi,

I would think that the Presonus uses ASIO audio to interface with whatever DAW you are using (Pro-tools). The Roland 1680 is an older device so I’m not sure how the audio is captured from Pro-Tools or even if it is digital audio. I think it just uses RCA jacks. You would probably need to use the line out jacks of the Presonus to the line in jacks of the Roland. Then use the ASIO interface to transfer audio data to and between Protools and Presonus.

Pro-Tools β†’ USB ASIO β†’ Presonus β†’ Analog Audio β†’ Roland
Roland β†’ Analog Audio β†’ Presonus β†’ USB ASIO β†’ Pro-Tools

I would probably need to see a diagram on how you have your 1680 set up without the 1824c first to understand how it would be done, but with that said, we are really not discussing MIDI here at all so, I’m not convinced this is a Bome related question.

It is correct.
With what you have programed with midi translater pro the function on the roland vs 1680 rec play fw,rw and stop work well , while Iam recording with my presonus 1824c
I can record from roland vs 1680 because the midi function follow the same time start and stop. And so on, 8 inputs on the roland vs 1680 I can input straight into protools .
I was wandering, If it could , it does very well don’t worry and thank you very much Steve Caldwell.
Best Regards Happy New Year to you and Bome.com.
Thank you.
