And the issue was … my cheapie PoE injector. When I replace the $12ish unit I got on Amazon:

Amazon.com: PoE Injector, 48V Power Over Ethernet Adapter, 10/100Mbps IEEE802.3af/at Compliant for Most Polycom/Aastra/Ubiquiti/Amcrest/Realink IP Camera and Phones : Electronics

… with either power via USB Micro-B or a $60ish unit from Black Box (model LPJ001A-T-R2), all problems disappeared.

Note to self: Buy Good Gear …

Great to read! We’ve had good results with this injector:

It looks quite similar to the Black Box one at a fraction of the price.

NB: we’re not selling it anymore (we’ve stopped selling accessories)
