Hello, is there some kind of wizardry to do this ? the pre gain is something you can control with a midi CC.
Currently I can use a knob to control it in relative mode and achieve that, but I would like to program a physical button to send 0.5db increment, I wonder if you think this would be possible somehow
Probably,
What is the MIDI message that the knob sends to increment by 0.5db?
What is the MIDI message that the button sends when pushed. Hopefully it is momentary and not toggle.

this is the midi CC that I use to control pre-gain with my knob in a relative way.
By how much it moves that pre gain by 0.5 I cannot exactly tell. The smallest movement I could physically make with my knob incremented the pregain by 0.4
the buttons I would like to use to add or remove 0.5 are port 4-cc13 and port 4-cc14
so I managed to do it !! but the by sending a value of 1 in the midi CC, it increment by 0.8 which is more than what I would like
There might be a way to set Cubase to have a different sensitivity. From a Cubase perspective, it looks at the MIDI message and cannot tell the difference whether it is coming from a knob or a button if the MIDI message is the same.
