Hi all. Let me describe what I’m looking to achieve here. I’m assuming this is possible with BomeBox & Midi Translator, but I’m not 100% sure yet. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Okay, so what I would love to achieve is to be able to hit single notes on a midi controller, wherein each different note would then translate that message into playing different chords, in series. So for example, if I were to hit a C4 note on my controller, it would trigger a Cmaj7. Then, moving up the board to a D4 note, then next chord triggered would be something else completely, so a Bmin.
I’m doing something pretty complex stuff and just don’t have enough hands and finger to achieve them all in real time. This would be a huge cheat code for what I have in mind.
I hope that all makes sense. Very much appreciated, in advance!
This should be achievable. You would need to develop your project on a PC or make and us aliases for the port names because they may be different when running on your BomeBox. Once developed, you upload to BomeBox, re-assign aliases and go from there. The example I posted earlier is an example of just one chord. You can duplicate it and modify it for each chord you want to create.
You can learn more about aliases from this tutorial.
If you want a chord progression from a single note, you would have to use timers to turn on and off chords at the selected intervals.
