Spybot Antivirus False Positive

Spybot Search And Destroy on a system scan has detected Bome MTP as a moderately severe threat. It’s never done this in the past. I’ve always trusted their results and just gave the go ahead for their automatic fixes.
In this case it seems to have completely obliterated any notion of MTP off my computer. So I’m going to have to reinstall and then report it to them.
Then using Ccleaner to sweep the computer, since MTP was gone, it detected relevant files as unused and deleted those too.

Thanks for reporting. We’re reasonably sure that there is no virus or anything malicious contained in MIDITranslator.exe.

Jotti
Antivir

I couldn’t find an online scanner for Spybot, though.

Ok I’ve reported MTP as safe on their ‘False Positives’ forum thread.
As for Ccleaner, it was just doing its job, so nothing much to say to them about it.
