I have an Akai MPC3000 which can send MMC (midi machine control) messages out but my DAW (Luna) can’t receive MMC. I want to control the Luna transport (play, stop, etc) from the MPC3000 so basically the 3000 is the master controller. Can Midi Translator Pro make this possible?
The short answer is yes. Luna supports Mackie MCU protocol so you would need to convert MMC messages to the necessary note messages for these functions.
Play would be note 0x5e, Stop would be note 0x5d. Record 0x5f, Fast Fowrard 0x5c and Rewind 0x5b all on MIDI CH 1.

Thanks for the quick reply, Steve. I’m new to this kind of midi programming stuff but I get the general idea. I’ll have to try the MTP demo and see if I can get it all working.
Hi Steve, I am about to try the trial version but read “Project files saved with the trial version will not run in the BomeBox.” What is the BomeBox? And with the 20 minute limit, will I be able to save whatever I program and load when I relaunch after 20 min? I just want to make sure I can use it properly before buying it. Thanks.
A BomeBox is a stand alone device that you can use to connect MIDI devices and route the MIDI signals without needed a computer. If you have regestered paid license, you can also run the project without the need for a computer. It has network capability (WiFi and ethernet) as well as USB connectivity and a conventional MIDI IN and MIDI OUT port.
Yes, you can save and relaunch the project and you will be good for another 20 minutes.
