Hello Steve,
First of all, I’d like to apologize for this topic, as it’s been discussed here a few times already.
It’s about the Yamaha DM2000v2 again. This console simply won’t communicate properly with Ableton Life 12, 11, and 10. I’ve followed the topics and configurations already discussed in the forum, but the 8 channels are still repeated either on all three blocks of 8 channels each, or if you select Mackie Controle first in the settings (ALS), then the second block with XT at the end, and then the third block, XT or Control Classic, only one block is duplicated without any labels, and the third block is then, so to speak, the 9th-16th channel. Likewise, the transport function doesn’t work.
I tried the following file and the following settings on the console.
Each set of 8 need to be set to a different MIDI port.
I have tested with this setup (I don’t have a DM2000 however have controllers that emulate HUI. I only have 2 connected. It is unclear from your screenshots whether you have them set up correctly.
I have an X-touch as the first HUI device and a Launch Control XL as the second.
In the lower section, only remote should be on. Also make sure in Ableton Live you don’t have any other ports selected in the lower secion unless you have a MIDI keyboard or something which should be set to track only.
I’m not sure of your DM2000 setting but I would think you would need to define different ports for each group of 8 there as well. Each set of 8 should be using HUI protocol.
With my 2 controller setup and Ableton Live 11, it works perfectly.
It might help if after you have it set up in Bome MIDI Translator Pro you select MIDI IN and MIDI OUT in the log file so I can see what MIDI is being transmitted and received and by which port. The event monitor will not show this level of detail.
Example:
67950: MIDI IN [MIDIIN2 (2- Launch Control XL)]: B0 2F 40
67951: MIDI OUT [Bome MIDI Translator 2 Virtual Out]: 90 69 7F

Hi Steve,
Thanks for your quick reply. I tried to capture the log file somehow via screenshot. In the MIDI to Host setup on the console, you can only specify MIDI port groups for the DAW (DAW 5-8), as attached and shown in the first post. It’s the same as Yamaha ports 5, 6, 7, and 8. Port 1 is general and is used by the Yamaha editor, and the remote profiles refer to the DAW MIDI connection.
Looking at the log, it looks like all MIDI coming out of the DM2000 is coming in port 5 so you should set your DM2000 to port 5 for HUI1, ports 6 for HUI2 and port 7 for HUI3. Applicaion 1-8 should be set to BMT 1, Application 9-16 should be BMT 2 and Application 17-24 hould be BMT 3
To capture more of the log window, you could go into it select all and the copy. Then paste into the forum or a text file and attach the text file.
