2 Akai APC mini With Daslight 4

Hey
I have a problem with Daslight 4 and 2 Akai APC Minis. When I open the file (attached) and then start Daslight 4 and select BMT as MIDI input/output and want to assign a key, an Akai APC Mini crashes. Can you please help me, I’m really desperate.
I would be happy to receive an answer!

Kind regards
Fynn

Could you show how you have your aliases set up? It looks like you have more than APC-MINIs. Are they MK1 or MK2?

Hey Steve, thanks for your request!
I Have two Akai APC Mini MK2.
I try it Later in BMT

This is my Midi aliases set up

OK, you need to set up your aliases as follows:

You can learn more about aliases from this tutorial.

I then removed a lot of your MIDI inputs and outputs for each preset as you were taking everything from multiple ports and sending it out to multiple ports thereby creating a lot of MIDI loops which is probably made your controllers crash.

Preset 0 now looks like this.

Preset 1 looks like this

Preset 2 looks like this

Preset 3 looks like this

For more information about device selection, see this tutorial.

Many thanks for your help. In Daslight 4, the APC Mini still crashes, and in Daslight I can’t assign the colors of the buttons. is it due to a mistake on my part

I don’t know. Maybe Daslight thinks it is an APC MINI MK1.

If you open the log window and capture the MIDI that comes from DASlight when it crashes and the copy and paste the results, then I can take a look.

Daslight doesn´t send a Feedback to the log Window. when i chose in Daslight 4 BMT as Midi in and out the APC Mini no.1 Crashes

It must be sending MIDI directly to your APC MINI then.

Does it crash when you are not running Bome MIDI Translator Pro ?

Wen BMT not running, the APC don’t Crash

Could you show me your DasLight MIDI configuration?

The only thing I would know to crash the APC-MINI would be a slew of unsupported MIDI messages. The only time I’ve seen it before is when fader messages are echoed back to the device. With that said, maybe two applications are trying to access the same MIDI port. When you get a APC MINI crash, what are the symptoms. Does it simply just stop working? Are there any LED’s lit? Are there any system messages indicating a crash?

It Crashes after 30sec. wen i open Daslight and select BMT as Midi in & Out, after that the APC don´t give a Feedback no LED no messages it still crashes. but i can see the APC in the windows device manager.

This is my Midi configuration:

Try this project file.

It will suppress any control change messages coming from Daslight from getting to the APC MINIs.

Translators 2.0 and 3.0

Thanks it works perfect, but my LED´s doesn´t Work. do you know why?

Are they not working at all or are they just really dim?

This version will convert the matrix notes numbers to make them the brightest possible (MIDI CH 7), which is required for the APC-MINI MK2.

Colors of the MK2 are different than the MK1

See this post for an explanation on how colors are handled on the MK2.

The LEDs don’t work at all. Do I need to configure something in the BMT file? Because they don’t light up with the file either.

Daslight needs to send data back to the LED’s. Are you seeing any incoming MIDI messages from Daslight when you look at the log window? Maybe another MIDI application is holding that port open not allowing Daslight to open the port.

Yes, you can see it in the screenshot. I activated a scene, and then the signal appeared in the log window.

Ah, I see.
For the first APC-MINI have Daslight send to MIDI CH 1 instead of MIDI CH 6 for reverse translation for matrix LEDs and leave at CH1 for side and bottom LEDs.

For the second APC-MINI have Daslight send to MIDI CH 2 instead of MIDI CH 6 for reverse translation for matrix LEDs and leave at CH1 for side and bottom LEDs.

The project file I provided will translate it to MIDI CH 6 for Matrix LEDs and leave it on MIDI CH1 for the side and bottom LEDs.

MIDI CH 6 (provided by the project file, will give you the Brightest LEDs.
